Timeframe to do tastings at your reception hall?

I was just wondering how much before the wedding everyone did or is doing their tastings??

We don't get a real 'tasting' because my hall wanted us to try the food at the showcases but we do pick our menu about a month before the wedding

I did my tasting before I booked my hall, under the theory that you wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first, so why book a hall without tasting the food??

we're not doing a 'tasting', but we are picking our menu 4-6 weeks before

I am doing a tasting August 20th and am getting married November 4th - so about 2 1/2months
