Timeline

I know a lot of you girls have booked photographers, DJs, florists, etc. and I feel so behind! Our wedding is in May 2015 and all we did so far is book our place. I would love to do more but I'm struggling with going to school out of state and working on weekends making it hard to travel back to LI to book things. A lot of the timelines I see on pinterest don't help me too much because it really depends on the location. When do you guys think I HAVE to have everything booked by? I'm starting to get nervous but I have no idea who I want for a photographer or DJ, I'm really open to anyone as long as they are good. I'd appreciate your input to what you guys think because I'm starting to get worried.

I dont think that you should be worried. I am the weekend after you & so far only have the place & photographer booked. (Maybe I am behind? LOL). I think major stuff should be booked by May 2014 but thats just my opinion.

I don't think you are behind at all! I JUST booked our wedding about a week ago and have not booked any other vendors and I am getting married January 2015. I am HOPING to have the rest of the vendors booked by the New Year but that's just because I like to plan and budget and the earlier I have everything booked, the better I feel I can budget my money over the next year. I'd say take your time, do your research, email some vendors you like and then assuming you will be home for January break then make appointments then. Even then you have plenty of time. I wouldn't stress.. the great thing about a 2015 wedding is that we still have TIME to do things and at this point don't have to rush!

You're not behind! I like to plan early, that's why I have my dj,photo and video already booked lol....I would say if your wedding is may 2015, I would start booking your other vendors next summer. Unless you have a specific or popular vendor in mind, I wouldn't worry about anything just yet. We just happened to find vendors we really liked early and booked them.

i don't think you're behind at all. i am a planner by nature and like to have big things out of the way. i'd recommend booking the big vendors around a year before your wedding.

Don't worry about feel like you are behind. The only reason why I have as much done as I do it bc I plan on moving out of state before the wedding and want to have all the things I need booked before I move so I don't freak out about being able to make it back.. If you need help I have some photographers quotes I can send you if you would like.

I feel you with the school stuff, I work and go to school full-time. I strictly get things done on my winter break and the summer because I usually have off from work once or twice a week. it's easier to pick things in 3's also..ex: narrow down 3 photographers you would like to meet with and make appointments in the same day then choose whichever u like better and book....this is what i did but, whatever works for you! goodluck no stress, you have plenty of time!:)

I think so long as you're not picky about vendors, you'll be fine. I want to get my photographer out of the way as soon as I can, but I really don't care about DJ or florist so will probably hold off on them for a while!
