For me I wanted to get all the Big Vendors out the way so I can look for my dress with a peace of mind and just focus of that. And also you want to make sure that the vendor you want is not booked. So I booked my Reception Hall, Florist, Photographer, DJ and then started dress shopping :)
I'm getting married next November & so far have the photographer, DJ and officiant..next step is florist & then I'll start looking at dresses when I'm 9 months out.
yeah, DJ and photog shoud be priority. i've heard from my florist that one couple booked them a WEEK before, which is crazy, but goes to show that flowers can wait a bit longer
And as for dress, it really depends on where you go: my David's Bridal Collection dress came in 2 weeks after ordering it, other girls have had to wait months for their designer gowns to come in. And it was the first dress I saw that I fell in love with!
i did RH, band, photo, and then dress. Just make sure you leave enough time for your dress. i ordered mine 13 months in advance (yes i know that is a lot) but it still hasn't come in. when i ordered it they told me my designer takes a long time.
I'm right after you in September. I did church then catering hall followed by flowers, photographer, band then limos. Was looking for a dress throughout but that was decided on last.
