Timeline for Vendor Meetings

Hi Girls,

I have been MIA lately but trying to get back in the swing of things as I am almost at exactly 13 months away!!!

My question is that do any of you girls have a timeline available that says when you should be meeting with the vendors that you booked?

We got engaged in May 2010 and pretty much had everything finalized for our wedding by last August and now I'm just wondering when is it time to revisit our vendors? ie: the reception hall - to go over food choices, linens, menu cards, etc. Florist: to pick out sample centerpieces, arrangements, stuff for the church, etc.

It really varies with when you do things:

RH- food choices, etc... I know for Crest Hollow we do that all a few weeks before the wedding.

Florist- sample centerpieces - I am using Pedestals with Virgil and we are going to do that in Janaury for my April wedding

DJ- music selection- I am using Variety Music and we are meeting a few weeks before to do that!

Wow - I keep thinking how strange it is to book vendors a year in advance and then not really talk to them for months and months, and you had your stuff booked even farther in advance! The crazy person in me wants to check in with my vendors every few weeks or so just to make sure they remember me and still have our contract on file, ha.

I think your timeline will depend on your specific vendors. Off the top of my head I can only remember that our final menu selections for the RH are due at least 6 weeks before the wedding and we'll come in about 3 or 4 months before for a tasting. My notes for the other vendors aren't with me at work...sorry!
