You will probably be ok with the later time slot but go with the earlier if it gives you a piece of mind. When we met with our Priest last week, he informed us that if you have a full nuptual mass, which is the hour one, you will likely be at the church for an hour and a half in total. You never know how the weather may be too which may delay the commute to the church, your house, reception, etc. Good luck

I would do the 1:30 if I were you although I think both would work. I had my reception at 6:30 and my ceremony at 3 and also had 35 min in between travel time. That timing worked out for us and we were able to make the whole cocktail hour. (I must say even with that much of a space - I did feel a little rushed but more was because guests started arriving early at the reception site and interrupting my pictures to say hello to people in the pictures.)

Annie, this is tough.

Are you photographers going to start with you at OHEKA or will they be meeting at your house and then to the ceremony? It seems like a lot to do to have your photographers at OHEKA, get in a car and move to your house, then again to the ceremony, then back to OHEKA.

I woudl consider forgoing one or the other, either get ready at OHEKA or at your house. Otherwise, you will drive yourself crazy, and run out of time.

I went through a similar problem, I want to have pics in front of my house, since it means so much, it's even where my FH picked me up for our first date. Everyone told me it was too much to run back and forth and I kind of agree. If you take OHEKA out of the picture, it makes your whole timeline run a lot smoother.

Then you can have ceremony 2-3 or so,plus people hanging around after the ceremony, and pics while everyone is traveling. Remember it might take you 35 minutes, but you know where everything is. So I would give guests between 45 minutes to an hour.

Beth-what did you decide to do...get ready at your house or OHEKA?

I am really being a baby about this! I LOVE the idea of getting read;y at Oheka...it is such a bigger space then my bedroom and then i can have everyone get ready with me. PLUS...i have a really big family and i know my house will be crazy that morning. i also love the photojournalism pictures i have seen of brides getting ready at OHEKA. BUT, the idea of not taking pictures in front of my house is honestly, devastating to me...as crazy as that is!

I have already cleared this with creative compositions and, although they think i am crazy, they were pretty agreeable

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I'm definitly getting ready at OHEKA. I haven't made up my mind about what to do with my house. I am considering taking pictures the next day with regular cameras in my gown and FH in his tux. It won't exactly be the same, and I know FH will b1tch, but it's worth it to me and it's worth it to my parents.

This isn't completely decided though.

I just decided that if it comes down to no pictures at all at my house...i am going to find out if creative compositions can take pictures of me and fh and my parents and then digitally 'put us' in front of my house. it won't be the same but, at least i will have a picture of me in my gown in front of my house (to go along with my communion picture, my confirmation picture etc.).

Annie, that's a great idea! See, now you don't have to stress as much because at least there is another option. I wonder if there is an expertise out there that could do the same for me even if my pics aren't digital...
