Throughout my engagement people always said things like 'oh you're doing that so soon' and 'you have plenty of time' so being self conscious I put a hold on a lot of things and now I'm not sure what things I can do now and what things I should still hold off on. I have a little over 4 months o go. When would you do these things:
Make card box (one of the boxes covered with lace) Put favor boxes together Spray paint L O V E letters Make my apple cider favor cones (like those cute hot cocoa ones only with cider) Make oot bags
I think that's it for now!! Tia!!

Not that I should talk because I haven't started any of my little projects yet but if you have time to do them now, then do them now! You never know what might come up or other ideas you might have between now and then, plus less to stress about as the day gets closer. The only one I might wait on is the favors because I don't know how we'll the ingredients would keep.

You should go at a pace you're comfortable with, regardless of people who think it's too soon. If you have time now, then definitely get these projects out of the way. As you get closer to your wedding, I'm sure a lot of little things will come up that will require your attention.

I would do these things now if you want to do them! I've been doing a lot of things very early, but why not? I'd rather be 4 months out and have as little to think about as possible!

Not too early to do those things now! It feels great to get stuff out of the way. I can't stand the 'you're going stuff to early' business either. I almost smacked a salesperson who was super snotty to my mom because she was looking at MOB dresses in March for my December wedding. Guess who didn't get the commission on that sale?!

I'd do things sooner rather than later, your schedule gets crazy the month of the wedding that I would try and have everything done early that you can!

I am getting married in 2015 and when we first starting going to shows (yes I know I have a LOT OF TIME) I was talking to one of the girls at Vavoom (wedding planners) and when I told her when we were getting married, instead of offering advice she said 'What are you doing here?!' needless to say, I REFUSE to use them... there have been a lot of vendors that have said they couldn't give us pricing because it is too far out but they offer advice and things to look for and what not... those are the vendors that are going to get my business when it is time for me to book those things.
So basically... (sorry for the rant) I think getting those things done whenever you have the time to do it is a great idea. I agree with the perishables though.. I would do that closer to the wedding. I've already started building my invitations (not printing them yet though)
Good luck!

I agree with what's been said. If you have the time/money/motivation/materials to do things now--go for it!! Who cares what anybody else says? You'll be one of the few brides ever to have time right before the wedding to relax and take care of all those last minute details. Good luck and have fun!
As everybody else has said, the only thing I might wait on a bit is anything perishable...

I'm a porcrastinator so even though I still have well over a year till my wedding I'm doing as much as I can now so I'm not rushing later.

I agree with everyone else, do them at your own pace. If you're able to do them now go for it! You don't know what may come up later. It's nice to do these things when you have the time to enjoy the process rather than wait and then feel rushed because of other details (and there are lots of details with our weddings

My advice is to do things as you have time and don't listen to others. You'll always have someone telling you the opposite of what you are doing. As the wedding comes closer you will be a lot busier

I get asked all the time why I'm planning so far in advance but the truth is there is a whole community of girls in this site that have all planned well in advance some more than 2 years. Do it now if you have the time!
