When are you ladies scheduling engagement photos? I just book photog, and am getting married in May. I do not really want to schedule in Sept/Oct - feel like its so soon...but also don't want in winter months - which leaves potentially April.... is that just way to late?
We scheduled ours for a little over a year out of our wedding day. We wanted to use the pics for save the dates so we needed to have them far enough in advance also we wanted fall e-pics.
Me wedding is next year Oct and i'm doing them in 2 weeks. i wanted fall pictures cause i hate the summer lol
My wedding is in 3 weeks. Booked the photoGrapher in december, and we had our shoot in mid may. It was their suggestion since they like to use the near by park and pond. This way it was nice outside.
I think April is way too late..you're practically married by then lol! There really isn't much to do for the Engagement shoot( just pick out outfits and a location). I am getting married in May and we did ours in June. If I were you I'd do it around October. The fall foliage makes for some really beautiful pictures and it shouldn't be too cold.
By the time you get the proofs from your e-shoot, you'll probably be getting married. I'd say do them ASAP. There's not a ton of prep work that goes into it, unless you want props. Talk to your photographer about it.
We wanted to do engagement photos earlier but wound up doing them in June and we're getting married later this month. It was just because of our schedules that it took so long but we didn't care. They are just engagement photos (and we originally didn't even want them, but the photographer threw them in during the negotiations!) I don't think the timing means anything, whether it is close to your wedding or not, unless of course you want to use the photos for your save the date or a holiday card, etc.
My wedding was this past July and we did ours around this time last year to use for our save the dates
