Timing of Hair and Makeup Trials

I really want to start doing my hair and makeup trials, but I don't have a dress yet - is this a terrible idea? I know what I want my dress to look like and my wedding is in the first week of September. I don't want to be over eager, but I also don't want great stylists to book up. Help!

I would definitely wait until you find the dress. Depending on style of your dress, it will determine what type of hairstyle you need. You have still have time

I picked and signed with my makeup artist before I had a dress.
I FINALLY have my dress but haven't picked hair yet. I still have to look around and figure out what kind of hairpieces and veil to wear.
Fiance bought me 2 headpieces before I had a dress and I dont know if I like them with my dress so that's a dilemma.

I'd wait for your dress, and what kind of veil if any before doing hair maybe?

If you already have someone in mind that you REALLY want, I wouldn't wait for the dress. But if you're open to using different people, I suggest you wait so you don't have to do more trials than you have to.

NOT a good idea at all. I ended up getting a completely different dress then what I thought Id get and I also always thought Id have my hair half up and that changed too, mostly in part bc of the dress. Also, you can tell the mu artist and hairstylist what you want but once they see the dress and they get the idea of what type of overall look you are going for, they kind of customize for you.... Which is good bc the same hairstyle on me may look very different on you. You guide them but then let them do their magic, if they are good you'll be amazed. But both of them def wanted to see my dress and what kind of look I was going for, which, if I wouldve done before I got my dress it wouldve been a complete waste. Unless you have the extra money to throw away.
