Timing question

How soon after cocktail hour ends and the luncheon/dinner begins are the couple introduced?

Does anyone have an hourly schedule for the day of their wedding?

Re: Timing question

I think it depends on what you are doing: buffet vs. Sit down.
Some people do it right before the buffet opens, other people do it between courses and some people do this right before the cake cutting.

Wedding schedule:
175 guests – sit down dinner, no bouquet or garter toss, pictures taken before ceremony.

9:00 Wake up, shower, breakfast
11:00 AM: Rehearsal.
12:00 PM Rehearsal Brunch (~25 people), Bride gets hair done
1:00 Maid of honor has makeup done
1:30 Maid of honor gets hair done, Bride gets make up done
2:00 MOB gets makeup done
2:30 MOB gets hair done, MOG (1) gets make up, photos of bride dressing
3:00 Grandmother gets hair done, Bridesmaid 1 gets make up done, photos of groom dressing
3:30 MOG gets hair done, Bridesmaid 2 gets make up done. Photos of Bride and groom outside
4:00 Bridesmaid 1 gets hair done, Family photos, Groomsmen help set up ceremony site – programs, reserved seating etc
4:30 Bridesmaid 2 gets hair done
5:00 wedding party photos
5:30 Ketubah signing, Grooms go down and help seat guests
6:00 Ceremony
6:45 Shuttle buses take guests to reception site.
7:00 COCKTAIL HOUR: Passed food, Stations (4) and Open bar
8:00 Blessing, salads served, and dinner orders taken
8:40 Bride and Groom announced, first dances, toasts, hora (Jewish Custom).
9:20 Dinner is served
10:15 Dinner plates are cleared
10:30 Cake is cut, dessert buffet is opened. (Cake is served to each person)
12:00 Party officially ends! (But you never know ….)

Re: Timing question

I was just in a wedding this weekend & the Bride & groom didn't come out during the cocktail hour but the BP & Bride & groom were announced right at the beginning of the reception I think that is best & that is what I am doing. Why would you want to miss any part of your reception.

Every wedding I've been to, the BP was introduced at the beginning of the reception.

i want to be introduced, but i dont thinkit will be good during the cocktail hour. our ceremony is at 2 w/ CH at 330 and reception at 5. we figure ceremony will last til 230, do the greeting line, take some pics and get to CH @ 330. i dont wanna miss any of it!! i guess when doors break to have guests go to reception, we'll make an entrance then
