TINY Budget Mar. 2012 Wedding. Pls help!

Hi. I'm new to this so hopefully it makes sense... We are looking to get married on a friday night in early march 2012. There are many reasons why we need this time frame. We aren't having more than 100 ppl, I'd like it even smaller but it's not possible. We are paying for it ourselves. We are hoping to pay $65/pp plus tax and what ever else, so no more than $85 a plate total. We live in mid nassau county and would like to stay around there. *Also, we need to have the ceremony on site. Since it'll be cold outside the place should have a decent atmosphere to take pictures indoors. Neither of us are picky by any means. I don't need to be the only bride there because as far as him and I are concerned, nobody else exist anyways. I plan on doing whatever I can myself.

I'm mostly looking for some input on reception halls and prices, what to ask, how much can we bargain, what should be included, how much extra do gratituities run?

Clearly this is off season and on a Friday night but does anyone have an idea how much these places will cost us?

**Hopefully we'll like one of the first three enough to not see all of these, but when you're on a tight budget then you do what you have to do...

The places we want to go look at are:

The Swan Club
North Ritz Club
Westbury Manor
Carlyle on the green -(pricing may be too high)
Bridgeview Yacht Club (further than we want)
Chateau Briand (if first 3 listed are no good)

Thanks for your help!
=) Congrats to all the newly engaged!

I am actually not familiar w/ any of the above RH's...but I do remember north ritz club had a pretty high minimum so I would call and ask about that. Since you are on a budget, maybe you can look into all inclusive packages. For instance, the Historical Thatched Cottage offers this so you get everything for a flat fee v. paying a bunch of diff vendors. I know others do this but not really sure of who I'm sorry. Also, I believe Ariana has all inclusive vendor packaging, as well which is worth looking into!! HTH! Congrats and welcome!

Thanks so much and congrats! One question, did you notice if the pricing for early March the same as late March for the Swan Club?

I'm pretty sure it was the same. I think I would have had the bigger room though so maybe the smaller room would be less money. I'm not sre about that.

You should look at Crest Hollow Country Club. I am getting married there in April on a Friday and it is in your budget. It is gorgeous inside and out. If IOU could sneak out for a few minutes for pics also the grounds are gorgeous

Carlyle is definitely over your budget. I am having an event there on a a Thursday and it is more than your budget.

I looked at swan club and that also was in your budget for March

Crashing.

Check out the Watermill. They have a gorgeous on-site ceremony room (Carnegie), and they would fit within your budget.

Ariana Waterfall
The Sterling

north ritz club is gorgeous, it was around 90pp for a friday night in the summer...not sure it will go down to 65pp for off season, cant hurt to try tho

carlyle on the green is around 165-185pp for friday night in off season

chateau la mer? they are DEF right on target with your pricing...they have an indoor chapel, on the water, big windows overlooking the water.

also like adelz said watermill has a gorgeousssss ceremony room!

also, what about fox hollow? i think they might be around your pricing and they def have rooms that accomodate smaller weddings

HTH!! good luck!

Have you seen Fox Hollow? Either the Winter Garden Pavillion or The Sommerly?

ITA, for a budget Verdi's is nice and no matter what kind of event there the food is always good. My sister got married there in April and the prices where in your budget. She also got married there. Her photographer got great pics inside and we were able to take some outside as well. I think it is perfect for small parties. Also if you are really staying with 100 people try the Holiday Inn in Plainview it has a complete package.

The Watermill, Windows on the Lake, Westbury Manor, Fox Hollow, Milleridge Inn, CHCC, and Woodbury CC should all fit in this budget as long as you are looking in the off season (March). GL!

Carlyle is over budget and their min. is higher then what you'd like.

I know all about tight budgets and paying for everything yourself! As fas as Carlyle is concerned...don't even bother. It is very expensive and you don't want to fall in love with it if you see it!

I know Westbury and CB will work with you...both are great! You should also try Verdi's. My girlfriends is getting married there in May of this year and she is raving about it. Plus they have these all inclusive packages where you get your flowers, limos, DJ, etc. Also, a lot of hotels in the area do those all inclusive packages...try the Huntingont Hilton or the Melville Marriot.

Hope this helps!
