Hey ladies, just wondering if it is necessary to tip for a hair and makeup trial. If so, how much?

Re: Tip for a trial?
I don't know if it is necessary, but as the bride, my first trial was free so I tipped $20.

I didn't tip for my make up trial, but I did tip for my hair trial just because it was done at a salon and I felt I should since she spent so much time with me. Oh and I just tipped her about $10

Re: Tip for a trial?
I tipped at my trials (both makeup and hair) because they were at a salon. I think I tipped $20 for hair and $15 for makeup....Although if it isnt done at a salon and the person works for themselves, you prob wouldnt have to...

Re: Tip for a trial?
There are so many different point of views on this one whether to tip because its a service or not since all proceeds goes right into their hands. I did because 1. I liked my trials but 2. I always feel like its expected and hate the awkwardness

Same here (For makeup). My hair trial wasn't free, and tipped the amount I would for a hair cut.

Re: Tip for a trial?
i had a free trial and i tipped $20. it's courteous to do so for the person who's potentially making you beautiful for your wedding day.

Re: Tip for a trial?
Thanks ladies. The thing is I have two trials. One is $100 for a makeup trial and it is at the salon. Being that it is so expensive it kills me to tip no matter how good of a job she does. Mind you she is the owner. My other trial is only $45 at the persons house, so I will give her something for her time.
