I'm getting my hair highlighted next week and I wanted to know what the standards are for tipping. It cost me about $120. & I usually give her $20. I don't know if that is generous or not generous enough. What do you think.
I'll also sidenote this that I only go about twice a year.

I think a $20 tip is fine. That's about 20% of your total.

I always give a $3 on the dollar as tip. So in your case, I would be given a $40 tip.

I didn't mean to sound nasty, I just know from a woman at our bus stop who is a hairdresser and works for tips, she wanted to give the bus driver a really big gift for xmas.
