I am going to pick my dress up from Kleinfeld's this week. My bridal fitter and I have gone through a lot together. They left gold safety pins in the dress when preparing the bustle which left green stains on the dress, which are out after 2 subsequent fittings. She handled the situation very well. Are you supposed to tip the bridal fitter? I think I am going to, but wasn't sure if this was appropriate.
We also had some situations with the seamstress at Bridal Reflections. After speaking to the store manager she softened her attitude and did a beautiful job on the gown. She was refusing to add crinoline under the gown to make it fuller. I gave her $50 during the final fitting.

I really have no intentions of tipping because I feel like Kleinfelds charges WAY more for alterations than they're actually altering. If they're not paying their seamstresses enough, than I don't feel I have to either. I don't mean to sound bitter, but I think a $400 alteration charge is a bit much. The only reason I agreed to it was because my dress is very detailed and I wanted them to be responsible G0d forbid something goes wrong.
Allure, that is so sweet. Too bad you didn't know who we were at the time. I would have loved to say hello. I always wonder where and when I may run into one of the girls from here.
