The price of gold is high right now. Yesterday I sold all of my broken, unwearable jewelry - plus mismatched, lost earrings, etc. I got more than $1100 for it!
Good money for HM, wedding bands, whatever. Your junk is someone else's treasure....

i went to a shop right across the street from fortunoff - address is 451 Old Country Road, though I noticed a lot of stores up and down the street buy jewelry.
It wasn't a pawn shop...I don't know how to describe it.

A lot of jewlery stores buy gold and other precious metals. You can get a pretty decent price based on the weight and grade of the gold.
I have so much jewelery from when I was younger, and took it and sold it a few years ago when the price of gold was pretty high...got about $500 for about 12 pieces.

just plain 14K. A few pieces had semi-precious stones but most were just plain. I didn't have any one substantial piece - just a lot of light stuff. it sure does add up!
