Hello, We really don't want to have tip jars at the bar for the wedding since they are our guests and should not have to worry about tipping. So with that being said, how much should we tip the bartenders? Any ideas?? Or is not having Tip Jars a bad idea?? Thanks.

We asked our hall not to put them out, and they agreed.
I would tip the bartenders $50 each at the end of the night - although the tipping is not up to me and i have no idea how much is proper...

I would think that we would not be allowed to use tip jars. I actually haven't even thought about bar tender tips yet! I'd love to hear what everyone is doing!

I think you may not have to tip them $50 at the end of the night. I've been to weddings where there was no tip jar, but people put their tips on the bar anyway

People will tip anyway unless there is a sign posted at the bar. I've seen this. 'Your hosts have provided gratuities on your behalf to your servers and bartenders'. Something like that. Check with your hall, because not all places agree with this.

Ditto, most people come prepared to tip the bartenders and the valets....IMO.....you could (or have FH or the BM) throw them a really big tip on thier first round.

My FI is always looking for the tip jar when we go to weddings. I think it's a personal preference though.

We usually look as well. I just didn't want the guests to have to shell any more money.
