Tip on keeping organized

Tip on keeping organized

I make myself a perpetual email list from work to my personal address. I print it and keep it in my purse to use as a guide. Then every week, I tell FH what we need to look into. When I cross a lot of stuff off, I send a new list.

It really has helped me. I don't nag FH and have the list with me always.

I have a huge folder that i keep all of my information in as well as a notebook where i gather ideas, inspirations, numbers and price quotes. I also have made checklists as well that I update on my computer all the time.

I have what my BP calls the binder of hell

I have a calendar section, budget info, vendor info, guest lists, any other kind of lists, and place to keep contracts.... it just has everything. I take it to all my vendor and BP meetings. FH watches me go through it quite often. I usually give him a verbal breakdown of what needs to be accomplished each week and so far he's been very good in keeping to it... even when life gets in the way.

I literally have a binder with tabs full of ideas/inspriations for the wedding. I come to the conclusion that it's getting a bit obnoxious looking so I started making inspiration boards on PowerPoint for each aspect of the wedding and I'm going to just stick those in there instead of all these random magazine clippings and printouts from the internet haha.

Everytime I take it out, FI rolls his eyes lol.

Once we start booking more stuff I will be putting our contracts and stuff in it as well.

I have a million folders at home too! Make up / hair ideas, each vendor, all of my receipts, agreements...
Good thing I am organized!

Guess I'm not too organized...I have a pile on the coffee table that has been growing over the past few months. Can't tell you how many times it has fallen over!

Re: Tip on keeping organized

I used weddingwire.com. It´s actually really good. Whenever I get info about a vendor or a tip to look into one I put in their name in the search and save it to my Vendors. It keeps all of your vendors organized and divided by type. You can also do a 'match for vendors' where you put in what you want and what you want to pay for it and it matches you with people. It also gives you reviews. You can tag each vendor with things such as 'Not a good Fit' 'one of my faves' waiting for response' etc so you know where you are at with a quick glance. You can also put notes about the vendors and send them messages through the site. All this gets saved together by vendor name.

It also has a timeline. Everytime you log into your 'dashboard' It tells you how many days your have left, what your to dos are for th week based on your weeding date. (a computer generated list is given to help out with the basics so you don´t have to type it up but you can add or delete from it)

It even keeps track of deposits that are do and who has to pay them. You could put different Payer information in (i´m using the name of which cc I will put it on)

It has tons of other stuff to its really been the best way for me to keep track of stuff.

I have a huge binder. It's clunky but it has everything! And it's in my wedding colors.

I also have a binder with dividers, but it's getting too full, so I'm going to have to upgrade to a bigger one

I also have an accordion folder to keep all my contracts and folders from vendors in.

Re: Tip on keeping organized

I´m going to be starting my binder soon!! I have a plain white one but it has a clear sleeve on the cover so I´ll prob print something out and put it in.

Up until now everything has been online (as I already posted) but now that I´m going to NY I will be printing stuff with me to go see vendors and put in contracts and stuff like that.

I will soon be joing the ranks of you who are made fun of!! I´m sure I will not be letting that binder out of my site!!!
