Should I tip the photographers and Band? I'm getting two completely different suggestions about them - some people say yes and some people say absolutely not. I'm paying for the Band's hotel rooms for the night since they live in PA plus we're paying for dinner for both vendors. And the band can drink all night. I thought everyone pays for their vendors to eat dinner but I'm being told that's not true and since I'm providing the extras I shouldn't have to tip. Any suggestions? I'm really torn on what to do. The photographer is costing $5,000 so it just seems insane to have to tip on top of that. Thanks for your help!

I did not tip the photographer because he owns the company, but we did tip the dj. We had a dj, mc, and a percussionist. We also paid for their dinner, I thought everyone did that as well. We were under our minimum so they helped bring our count up. HTH!

I just re-read your post and you said you are paying for a hotel room for the band, did you do that on your own, or do they require that you do that. I don't think I would tip if I had to pay for a hotel room for them, but I'm not sure if that is right or just me, sorry if this wasn't much help.

It was helpful...thanks! The band required that I pay for 3 hotel rooms for 7 guys since they are traveling so I guess I could go either way with the tipping.

I fed and tipped my photographers generously.
As for the band, there is money thrown on the floor from the Greek dancing so that $ traditionally goes to the band. Figure maybe $25 per member.

I'm really torn about this as well. Then if you tip, how much?!
FH's parents are paying for both of those vendors so I trying to stay out of it and let them just make the call...

We tipped our band 20%. We tipped our photographers a few $100 each.
