Tip question

Tip question

Both our photographer and our videographer own their own companies...

So, the question is, are we supposed to tip these people?

Typically, when I get my hair done by someone that is the owner, I don't tip, because they pocket everything anyway. However, I am not sure how this works for wedding vendors?

TIA!

We tipped both of them, and both own their own companies. They did such an amazing day the day of we couldn't imagine now tipping them. We gave them the biggest tip out of anyone else too.

Who do you still tip if a 20% gratuity is already included in the total cost of the RH.... Gratuity alone is $4500...??

Re: Tip question

If any vendor is the owner, we are not tipping them.

Our RH (like many, others,)charge you a service fee *gratuity... When waiters / waitresses work in catering they get paid by the hour, and the price you & I pay for grat. is going to their salary. we are not tipping on top of this.

Our RH also charges a Matri d fee, we am not tipping on top of this.

Our officiant, is not denominational, & this is his business, we are not tipping him...

Idk about you, but I don't have clients that tip me after a session, and say thank you, you did a great job psychoanalyzing me... Why b/c that is my job, and fees are already discussed for the service provided.

I feel the same way!!! We are paying A LOT of money PP at Land's End and then they add that 20% gratuity ($4500)... I really don't think a tip is necessary after that!!!

Yea, my thinking is, if you're pocketing EVERYTHING I'm paying for the total cost of, lets say, photos, why would I need to tip you on top of that?

I mean, If it was like $10-$20 here and there, that would be one thing, but, hello! We're paying a $hitload to get married at Oheka Castle and there is really not that much $ left in surplus as is, let alone to be used for tipping owners!

Weddings on Long Island in General are a $hitload of $$$$... We're dropping $60k on our economy wedding
