Tip Questions

After reading many articles, here are the average suggested tip amounts:

Limo - most companies have a mandatory 20% gratuity
DJ/MC - $50-$100 per person
Photographer - $60 -$100 for the main photographer, $40 - $50 for each assistant/lighting person
Videographer - same as photographer
Maitre'D - most RH's suggest $3-$5 per guest
Florist - $10 per delivery person
Valets - $.50 - $1 per car
Bridal Attendant - $100-$150
Hair/Makeup - a tip is not necessary for the owner of a salon, or if she works independently, but it's always appreciated!
Bathroom Attendants - $25-$40 per bathroom
Coatroom Attendant - $25-$40
Bartenders - $50-$75 per person

Definitely have an extra $1500 (give or take) ready for tips.

Here's what I did, I had 110 guests...
Limo driver: $25 each way
bridal attendant $100
band $100 to mc
Maitre'd $375
photog-we made envelopes for $50 each we had 2, but they did an amazing job so we gave each of them $40 more, so it was a total of $90 each
Video same as photog $90
Hair and makeup -was a gift from family friend so she refused to take my $
And thats all the tips I accounted for

edited to add, our limo price included tip, but we thought it would be nice to give something extra

I agree, except for my band, I gave a pretty big tip -- about $300 -- but I had asked them to do very specific things and they did all of them +++ more.

For the others, I did about the same as what was posted.

limos---for us it was already included in the price so we did not give anythign extra that day

Photographer- $100 to head guy
Video - $100 to head guy
DJ- $50
MC- $50
Percussionist - $50

Around that is fine i think!

This is what we tipped:

DJ (he was the owner but did a great job) - $50
MC - $50
Limos - $50 each driver (we also had 20% gratuity in our contract)
photographer - $100
videographer - $75
