Hi, Heres another question for u all....I have no clue about how u tip ure vendors. What do u guys think is a decent tip...for the DJ,photographer, videographer and limo drivers? I was reading somewhere that they should be tipped around $25-30...is that about right? Thanks, Allison

Tipping

Tipping is a personal decision and so is the amount. I have heard some girls give their bands very big tips, some give nothing extra. The basic rules are that owners of businesses do not have to be tipped, since they are getting the full fee that you paid. The people who work in the reception site and limo company are getting tipped, which is automatically added to your bill. It is really up to you if you want to give a waitress or limo driver extra for great service. Photographers probably get more than $25, closer to $100 I would say. Same for the video guy. But assistants can get $30 or so. Again, this is not a MUST. You are paying for their services and their meal already.

Tipping

As far as Im concerned, tipping should be based on quality of service and to a lesser extent of effort. If a vendor really goes out of their way to go above and beyond what you are paying for, then they deserve a huge tip b/c this sort of service is priceless anyway. If a vendor does a great job, then they also probably deserve a reasonable tip. If a vendor just does what is expected of them - they do not deserve one! They are already being paid for those services. Use the rules you would use in 'non wedding world'.
