I agree. I was only going to give small tips to the others but I was just wondering.

Re: Tipping
Our hall gave us a suggested tip for the maitre d and two captains and then waiters and bartenders are included in the per person price. we are planning on tipping the photographer, band and videographer. I'm not sure we are going to tip the limo drivers, because I thought the tip was included in the price.

Re: Tipping
This is what I'm planning on tipping: Video Photographer Maitre d Bridal attendent DJ Officiant Hair/Makeup
I am probably forgetting someone.. BUT I'm tipping people who DESERVE a tip - a tip is extra for good service - the vendors should not expect it - if you go above or out of your way for us, then you'll be tipped well!

Re: Tipping
I tipped the following people
- Maitre d': not included in our RH contract. Left to our discretion to tip. We did (and did not follow the whatever cost per person it is supposed to be!!!!!). He was excellent - Limo: Not included in the price
We did not tip anybody else. All were the owner of their business and charged us a ton of money. If you cut it down per hour.... it WAY MORE than my salary.

Re: Tipping
If you are supposed to tip, trust me they will let you know. Otherwise, you're spending enough money. We tipped the people who 'let us know' about their own gratuity. We were told by the florist to tip the delivery men $200, so we did.

We were told by our hall it was customary to tip the maitre'd $3-5 per person, but I think in the $2-3 per person is fine.

$5 per person is insane.
That would be $1000 tip for 200 guests. That's not a tip. That's a salary.
There was an article on this site a couple of months ago. It was about tippping and it stated that NOONE should be tipped more than $150-$200.

florist: i tipped him $60 i think.
limo: didn't have one
MD: i don't know what my FIL tipped, but were told $3-5/person
bridal attendant: again, i'm unaware of what she got...but i've heard anywhere from $100 to what the MD gets.
DJ/MC and/or BAND: $50/person
photographer: i think he got $100
hair and makeup: i think i gave them $40 extra each b/c of the insane hour they arrived and b/c they charged me below their quoted rates when it was all said and done.
