Tipping....

After the wedding who are you suppose to tip? I honesty thought that since you were booking the vendor the tip would be the $$$$ you are spending on them, but now I hear you have to tip too...so who do you tip and how much?

DJ?
Photographer?
Videographer?
etc....

On our TIP list is:

Maitre'D ($3-5 per person/guest)
Photographers (2)
Videographer
Organist
Soloist
Limo Driver
DJ
Bridal Attendants
Valet
Altar boy(s)

I HOPE that's it!

I'm really confused about tipping too . . . many of the contracts we have signed say that gratuity is included, but I just recently learned that the extra $$$ doesn't always go to the person

THough I think if the person actually doing the service for you is the owner you do not have to tip them.
The photographer and video person are you supposed to tip them before you receive the final product or after?

Good point about the before or after tipping. What if you tip before and then when u get the photos they are horrible? I am still confused about tipping..

And I thought gratuitiy was included...meaning tips for the matird, valet. and everything that goes with the hall. I mean $3-$5 a person on top of gratuity...sorry to say it, but thats crazy. JMO

my bm told me that the gratuity was for the wait staff and the matre d was separate and it was whatever we want to give them the same for the attendants...i dont know what we will give the dj's and photogs yet, as for the valet, i think thats up to whoever's car they park to give them a tip if they want....

sorry im so bad with this tipping thing, i have no idea myself, but i had read that somewhere...i dont know the ettiquetes of tipping but theres still 5 months till the wedding hopefully ill learn!

no maitre'd its just $3-5$ per person.... so that is the 'tip' ....

and bridal attendent ut ip $50, 75, 100...depending on the service too

tipping is optional and not required for the :
1. Photographer / videographer(not many people tip these guys)
2. dj
3. Usually the matire d is included

and you should tip your hairstylist, makeup artist on the day of and the limo guy. I never saw or heard anyone doing the officant or minister..

Funny thing is that I heard that you DO tip the officiant..grrr...this is a pain. If you dont tip..they cant do anything aout it right? lol....I mean a tip is exactly that..a tip...not a mandortory thing

no the Maitre D' is just one person who oversees your affair, he like coordinates and tells the waiters what to do etc...and i believe he splits the tip with all of them

Im also tipping the restroom attendants and coat room so thee arent any tip baskets in there. i hate that.

Oh Lord, Mildred- let me tell you!!! By the time I am done tipping this one and that one I think it all comes out to about 2k. I really think I am going to redo that budget.
