How much are you going to tip your MaitreD and Limo driver?

Re: tipping

Our hall 'suggests' $3-$5 per guest for the maitre'd. The limo driver gets a mandatory 20%

Re: tipping

Glad that I don't have that many guests, but if I have 300 guests which means I have to tip her at least $900????

so totally not happening - at MOST I'll give $2 a person - that's a good chunk of change!

We planned on giving our Maitre'D around $2 p.p. and then at the end he did a great job so we gave him a little extra.

tipping is included with the whole package at west sayville.. no one else has that?

Anywhere from $2 to $5 a head plus you have to tip the bridal attendant, dj's, photographer and the photographer's assistant, the videographer, limo drivers, etc.

I had about 10 envelopes the day of my wedding with just tips......

Re: tipping

We ar doing $2.50 a person for the maitre D and $40.00 each limo driver. Thats on top of the gratuity charge already added to the contract.

From what FH and I heard: in a lot of catering halls, the maitre'd splits his tip with the staff...usually half. So in your case he would take about 200-225 and the rest is for the staff. My sister had a wedding of about 150 people and brought 600 with her for the maitre'd. He did a fantastic job and his staff was amazing...it's a lot of money but everything works on tips these days.

Be careful though, most halls call it a service charge now instead of gratuity because the money doesn't 'tip' anyone... It covers salary, etc. If you don't feel comfortable tipping the staff, definitely try to tip the bridal attendant and the maitre d - they work their butts off!! I know - my sis was one!
