If I'm supposed to tip the RH staff day of- what exactly am I paying 18% gratuity for? Just curious!

That is what the gratuity is for- Re read your contract to be certain - but I know with my RH the waitstaff is included

i thought the gratuity inluded the staff and bartenders....these halls want more and more...they should pay their own staff a decent salary so we don't have to tip so much

It's my understanding that the 18% is the service fee which pays for the wait staff. The tip is on top of that and is the gratuity.

God knows what my 18% covers. I still have to tip the Maitre D & wait staff

My Wedding Coordinator specifically told me that the 18% gratuity is for all the staff & there's no need to tip more. He even mentioned how additionally the bartenders and valet's would be taken care of by our guests. He also mentioned to us (3 times) how this does not include his service !

The 18% is for the staff. My RH made it very clear that that is added in for the staff and that it is not necessary for us to shell out more money for them. Bartenders and valet get more because of tips from guests. The maitre'd, however, is not included in that and is tipped separately at the end of the night.
