Same. Though I've seen some posts on here where the reception hall was saying that girls had to give more than that. We were told $3-$5 per person though as well...give what you feel comfortable :)

well he told us 4-6 which i think is a bit much but the banquet manager also mentioned some of the money is given to wait staff and valet. Is that true with everyone else?

Suggested was 3-5....however, we are having 200 people and I think we are just going to give $500 (At this point I dont care if we look cheap, lol).

some halls have it listed on the contract. its usually 2-5 a person

It's usually in your contract. Ours was 3-5 I think and the 20% svc charge covers the rest of the staff. Every venue is different so check your contract or ask.
