I'm having my hair and makeup trials tomorrow. My Makeup trial costs $45 and my hair costs $70. If I tip $5 each, is that too little? I'm travelling to their salon. I'm gonna go broke this week. Ha-Ha!

Re: Tipping at Trials
I tipped $10 for hair and for makeup...I thought that was decent...my mother thought it was overly generous. I think 5-15 is a fair amount IMO

Re: Tipping at Trials
I tipped $10 each, and the trials were $50 each. But I came to them.
I have a 2nd trial this week, and they're charging me a little less.

What about when the person works out of their home? For example, they charge $50 for a trial - do you just pay the 50 or tip on top of that also?
I mean technically, there is no salon that collects the fee ???
Just wanted opinions on this topic.

I went to the girls house for my MU trial and the cost was 55, I gave her 70. I think you should tip regardless of whether she come to you or you go to her.

Re: Tipping at Trials
I usually tip 20% of the service. My hair trial was $75, I think I tipped $15. I may of even given $20 because I didn't have a $10 and a $5. I gave $20 for my makeup, which the trial cost $100.

Well I wound up tipping $5 each. I already shelled out $115 for both trials combined and day of wedding is going to cost me close to $250!!!! Yikes!
