Tipping calligrapher?

Tipping calligrapher?

Is it customary to tip a calligrapher. Fi and I had an outside calligrapher do our inside and outside envelopes. While we are really pleased with the work and service, I haven't read anywhere--in wedding forums, planning books, friends, or elsewhere--that it's the norm to do so. Is it 1) really rude not to tip, 2) optional but not in any way required, 3) no reason to do so at all.

Thanks!

IMO i am tipping everyone. Maybe not alot but I feel everyone that is helping and puts their time in should get tipped

No, I wouldn't tip them, especially not if they work for themselves.

I had no intention of tipping my calligrapher - but her prices were so reasonable, she did such an amazing job, she was so wonderful as a person and she was so FAST! I wound up giving her a tip because I just think the world of her.

It is definitely not necessary, but if you are super happy with their work and want to then Im sure they would appreciate it...
