This is a repeat from the 09' board, but I REALLY need your advice ladies so please help!!
So I'm a little confused about this...Having been a bartender myself for YEARS when I was younger and now while I look for another job, I just assumed that you tipped the wait staff & bartenders on top of the service charge. That being said, I've never worked at a catering hall (just nightclubs & restaurants). My DOC said that I'm not supposed to tip them, just the Maitre'd (approx $3-$5/person). What are you ladies doing? I don't want to offend anyone or be cheap, but I also don't want to waste money. What is the proper ettiquette standard?
Also, what did you tip your DOC's and/or Officiant's? My DOC also said I shouldn't tip my Rabbi? He's not my family rabbi, but I wasn't sure if that was right? Help me wise ladies!!

Your FH is right...the tip for the waitstaff is included in what you pay for the RH:
Maitre D: $3-$5 pp dependent on service-we tipped $400 for 100 ppl Bridal Attendant: $100-$150 dep. on service-we did $100
We didn't tip our officiant...were told we didn't have to....and we didn't have a DOC.
