Re: tipping for hair and make-up trial ?
nada.
my personal feeling is that unless the artist works for a salon, they do not have to share their earnings with anyone and therefore do not need to be tipped.

well, if the salon is collecting the money then i suppose she needs to be tipped, but that sounds really steep for salon prices. is she doing it in the salon the day of or is she someone from a salon that you asked to do it on the side?

I wouldn't tip for a trial unless you book them, then tip the day of.

I tipped 20%. It was at her house, but I still felt I should give something.
