are you tipping if its their own business? and how much? or a percentage?
eta: with other vendors who its their own business, i decided i am going to tip but i also made that decision based on the fact that they are splitting the actual fee with the other employees/assistants who are working with them on the wedding day and also if they are going to be working for me after the wedding day (ie. photog)
but my hair and makeup people are extremely pricey and as much as i love them and do appreciate their work, they are keeping all that money for themselves (besides supplies/business expenses which of course i understand about)
opinions? tia

Re: tipping for hair and makeup?
I put my girls in charge of paying the hair and makeup girls (Jenn the hair genie & Oksana) so I'm not sure what we ended up doing, but if I remember correctly I think I told them to do a 20% tip, I think that was more then generous considering how much it costs without tip!

I plan on tipping all of my vendors 20% and above if they are great. Even if they own their business.

I think $10-$20 is more than enough (unless you have a very complicated hairstyle/make-up requirement). Plus, each girl will end up tipping, if they're having a service so that adds up.

Re: tipping for hair and makeup?
My hair lady is not charging me for travel so I am going to tip her what her travel fee is which is much more than 20%
