Tipping for hair & make-up trial….

Tomorrow I have a hair and make-trial with the same person.
So what is the etiquette for tipping? Do I? or do I only if I like it? Is 20% the norm??

Help!

TYIA!

I have been under the impression you tip them after they do your hair on your wedding day if you decide to book with them. But I guess many people tip for the trial. So Im totally confused too!

I had two trials and I didn’t tip for either of them. I did leave a 25% deposit with the girl I ended up booking. I will tip the artist on the day of actual services.

I tipped for both my trials.

Really, is it any different than getting your hair done on a regular basis ? Same for make-up.

Yeah, that makes sense.
My trial is with Maria D’Leon so I’m not going to a salon, but I guess if I plan to use her for my wedding I should keep her happy….

I didn't tip either girl... they both ran their own company and were getting cash

i plan on tipping my girl, I'm getting it done in a salon though, not the day of, just for my trials, and I'm taking up time that she would be doing someone elses hair and getting a tip in the end...

Dude... it's a TRIAL and you're PAYING for it. They are supposed to be selling themselves to you. I didn't tip for my trials and I doubt the people I booked were looking for one either. Even if you love it, the tip for them is that they get to do your wedding, in which you will probably be paying them way way too much money anyway.
