tipping--hair and makeup trial

tipping--hair and makeup trial

Do I have to tip my hair stylist and makeup artist for my trial when they own the company and what I am paying them goes directly into their pockets?

I know its customary to tip 20% for hair and makeup, but I'm just wondering if thats still standard when they are independant of a salon.

TIA!!!

Having worked at a salon I would say yes to tipping. Some owners do not take 100% of their business. At the salon I worked at, the owner gave herself a percentage like everyone else. If you know for a fact that it all goes to them then def. do what feels right to you! I don't know if that helps LOL but I hope it does a little

Yes, I still tipped, even if they freelanced.

I tipped both. They both were amazing and spent so much time so I wanted to give them something extra!!

Thanks girls!!!! I'm inclined to tip them just because I would feel weird not to, but they definitely freelance and I know for a fact that what I'm paying them goes directly in their pockets.

Is 20% standard still??

I did my trial - I didn't tip - since it was more like I was interviewing them for the job.
