Tipping help PLEASE!!!!!!!

HELP!!!!! Please someone let me know who, how much. AAhhhhh I need to know how much money we need to take out!!!!! Thanks so much!!

A LOT! We tipped almost everyone. You should make up your own mind on how much. There are several threads all about this.

Here is a loose list Darren and I have come up with.

Maitre D ($200 to $300 )

Band (completely optional. If you do decide to 'show them the money,' calculate $20 )

Hair, Makeup & Nails (15%-20%)

Delivery People (about $10 to each delivery person)

Officiant (between $100 and $200)

Transportation (15%-20%)

Parking Attendants/Valets (about $1 per car)

Coatroom and Restroom Attendants ( If this gratuity is not factored into the bill already, $.50 to $1 per guest )

Photographer/Videographer (Estimate $20 to $25)

Caterer & Wait Staff (250 to $500 it will depend on how many are actually there)

Bartenders (if not included:10% of the total liquor bill)

It is easy to remember that you don't tip the owner of a business, but instead tip the people working for that owner. In addition, the florist, bakery, and bridal shop will not be expecting a gratuity, nor will the invitation or party rental companies. Thank-you notes are, as always, universally and eternally appreciated.

We have to tip the valets even though most of the guests tip them when they get them thier car???

I'm not trying to sound cheap, but I didn't even think about this until I read the post.

The woman I talked with told me that many times at a wedding guests don't tip valet because they take for granted that its taken care of by the hosts of the party. I know my guests and they will def. think that so I just incorporated into my budget now so it would not be such a surprise in 4 months.

Thanks Deb. I'm glad you mentioned that. I would feel horrible if they didn't get a tip. I'll add that on to my list!!!

I as just thinking...its not that big of a tip if you average 1 dollar per car. For us we have about 150 people coming and of that 40 of them are coming from out of town so they will be on a bus that we provide. That brings us down to 110 and if you figure that most of them are couples I bet its only about a $50-75 tip.
