what is a good amount to tip the maitre'd? Our RH told us to tip somewhere between $450 and $750. Is that right? It seems like a lot for a tip.

At least $500 depending on your final cost of RH. They do so much for you on your day! I would definetly not go less then $500. Think between 2% - 3.5% of your final RH cost...thats around average, but of course if it is too much thats understandable too...you have to work around your budget.

Ugh another expense... doesn't the hall take enough from us already?!?!
The guy is just doing his job... I don't get tipped for doing my job (much less $500+) ... I guess I'm in the wrong business!

we were told between $3-$5 pp....i know it's sickening if u have a big wedding!!!!

We were told $2 - $4 pp is standard but whatever we want to do is fine. We will prob go right in the middle and do $3pp which will come out to about $450.

Our RH automatically charges $2 pp in our contract and then it's up to us to give more. If we really like him, we'll probably give him an extra $100-150. We are having about 200-225 guests.
