hi, i am getting married at the RH and we hired a wedding officiant that charges a flat rate. do we also pay a gratuity to that officiant on top of what they charge? did anyone who is already married add a tip to the fee charged?
TIA!

Re: tipping officiant?
I would say no. They are taking all of the money that you are giving them so there's no reason to tip on top of that.

Re: tipping officiant?
Honestly, I am paying $500 for a 15-20 minute ceremony. No tip!

I didn't tip... my DOC told me no.

Re: tipping officiant?
No, we didn't tip our officiant. He performed a beautiful service but the whole fee that we paid goes directly into his pocket, he doesn't also need a tip on top of that.

Re: tipping officiant?
we aren't. the amt you pay is kind of high for how long they 'work' to a point, they are just abusing the fact that we need someone 'approved' by the state...and don't want a Justice of the Peace.
