We are using an officiant who isn't charging us a fee cus he is recommended by the hall we are getting married at. I read it was not appropriate to tip the officiant, but to donate to the church. Ours is not affiliated. Should we tip him? I feel weird not tipping something. What is a good amount?

I am in the same situation. Its not like our wed is at a church, where u ive the church a donation and then maybe tip him. But since we are paying him hundreds, why should we give him more?

we used Rev nick as well... the price is inclued in the ceremony fee... when you meet with rev nick or talk to him right before your wedding , he will ask for a donation... we gave him $100... thought it was appropriate!! HTH!!
