We are having a reverend and a rabbi marry us, they are charging $600 each. Do we have to tip them????
I didn't think of this until now...

Re: Tipping officiants???
We are also having a rabbi & a preist marry us & they are charging us $600 plus $150 for travel (they're in LI & we are in the Bronx). I dont think you have to tip them since they are working for themselves & keeping all the money you are paying them. Esp that they are charging us $150 for their travel - I think that covers tip so we are not tipping them extra lol
But it is up to you, it's optional.
Same goes for photographers & videographers - they own their companies so why tip them if they are making 100% of what you paid them! That's the way I see it. If you tip every vendor, you're gonna go broke! lol

Thanks! I don't think I'll tip as they will pocket the money and don't have to share it with an organization as they work for themselves

Re: Tipping officiants???
if my officiant arrives early and goes above and beyond I do plan on tipping him a little. If he shows up exactly on time and just does the basics I probably won't tip him. It's going to be a day-of decision!
