Tipping Photographer??

Tipping Photographer??

We gave $25 and paid for his meal.

I have purchased the cameras at Ultimatewedding.com and have received them right away, they were in good condition and look great. The brand is Kodak, which you know is a good brand. I will let you know soon how well the pictures are! In my opinion, I like the wedding cameras, rather than the every day disposable cameras. Now, that's the bride in me talking. If I were at a wedding as a guest, I would not NOTICE the difference on what kind of camera it is.

Good luck. They are fabulous!!!!!

Tipping Photographer??

Mark- Sorry to ask again but I didnt understand your explanation regarding tipping. My photographer is also the owner of the studio. Is a tip customary in this situation? Of course he will get a meal!!!

any other creative ideas ?? this would mean alot to my future hubby :)

vendor table

I can understand feeding your vendors. Do you really want them leaving for 1/2 hour to pick up some food?

If you want every moment of your ceremony/reception covered, then feed your vendors. That way your photographer doesn't miss anything or you have "dead air" because your dj ran out to get a meal. So if its between keeping the vendors at the hall and feeding them or waiting for the DJ to get back from lunch, I'll provide a meal. I'm feeding the vendors, but I'm keeping that in mind when I start tipping. This is a huge expense for us and every penny does count.

Not gonna do it!

I hate this as much as anyone but think of these things before you make a final decision - Do you want to risk an irritated DJ? An angry photographer? Both can have an impact on your music & pictures. I know this sounds horrible but people can be vindictive (A big "Im sorry" to all those who would never act anything but professional) and I dont want to risk it on my wedding day. Plus being civil to them as human beings is worth the 3 or 4 half price meals we have to pay for. In the big scheme of things it is a small price to pay for peace of mind. I dont say this because we have deep pockets full of money but simply because it is worth it to me & my fiancee. This is how I feel, but I do respect the fact that others may feel differently.

I'm sorry. I won't do it again. Some chat rooms let you respond if you are answering a specific question that pertains to your product. Again, I apologize.

You're kidding, right? PLease reread my post

I have to say I agree with Kareena; it shouldn't be necessary to pay over two thousand dollars, then $45 each for the photographer and his assistant to eat and then to tip them. Enough is enough.

Thanks!

I know the cost per head is a little high but from what I've heard, well worth the cost!

For us throwing in that meal would cost us $127-- can't say I am going to "fork" that over for our photographer, his assistant, videographer and 9 band members-- do you realize that totals $1400-- I can think of many things we could spend that money on

Please remember to make your list of pictures, and remember to include to take a picture of the Bride and Groom in front of every backround. Alos give the list to a family member that will be there at the picture site, so they make sure it's all taken care of.

My problem was we took all the family pictures with the green grass and trees, but we have non of the two of us.

Just food for thought

I think we're all losing sight of the fact that a tip is something you give if the vendor has gone over and above and delivered excellent service. Maybe we shouldn't be giving the photographer any tips until after we have the proofs in our hands. Tamara, why are you so worried that you won't get your pictures on time without tipping? Are you concerned about the quality of your photographer? Not to mention, can we discuss this (if it's worth further discussion) without name calling?

-A non penny pinching, yet money conscious bride

I have a friend who tips gas attendants. She doesn't do it to get better gas. She does it because she thinks they deserve it. It's a personal choice. Tipping is always a personal choice (unless gratuity is included). Feeding vendors, however, should be common courtesy. If your hall is charging you full price for vendor meals, then fight with them. I think they will come around. If they don't, then explain to your vendors that you can't afford it and that they should eat at the cocktail hour.
