I hate talking about tipping because it always makes my blood boil but I really need some advice with this one.
This is for day of hair & make-up. The women doing my hair is charging $120.00. She works out of her home.
The women doing my make-up is charging $65.00. She also works out of her home.
So, what I am paying is completely their profit.
Do I have to tip?? If you think I should tip, how much is good??
TIA

Re: tipping question
I'd still give a *small* tip. $10 each?

Re: tipping question
you don't HAVE to tip ... but it's always appreciated.
i'd probably give about 20% of the price you're paying for the services

I did tip, we did 20%, both girls were on time, keep us on track and did absolute beautiful work.

Re: tipping question
I was thinking 20% as a little thank you. Thanks ladies.

Re: tipping question
I go back and forth on this. I am most likely paying for 10 girls to get their hair done...plus myself...which would be $1250 cash for the woman doing our hair. It's her business, so she isnt sharing the profit. Same with the makeup artist. My mother insists you dont tip the owner of a business, but I always feel bad. But then again, they are making someone's weekly salary in a few short hours. So, I'm zero help : )

I like the idea of writing a card with the tip...more personal and they will appreciate it!

Re: tipping question
Are they coming to you the day of the wedding? Regardless of whether they are coming to you or if you are coming to them, I would still tip. I didn't tip for a trial but I will tip the day of the wedding.
