Tipping Question-trying to get an idea of what it will cost
I went through alot of old posts about how much to tip so I can work it into my current budget. My contract says Maitre D and Staff Gratuities are at my discretion. I am being charged a 20% service charge as well as tax on top of that, what exactly is that for? Should I still tip everyone (Maitre D, Bridal Attendant, Servers, Bartenders, Valet etc.)

the 20% is basically goes to the house. Its how they pay the salaried staff, back of house staff, etc.
the gratuity you pay at the end of the night is the tip to the staff...
plan on $2-3 per person

2012er crashing..... Tipping is not a little number. For our wedding in April the total amount of tips (not including the 20% service charge at the RH) was about $1500.
So make sure that you add that to your budgets!

That's why I am trying to figure it out now! I am planning on just tipping the maitre d and bridal attendant then for the hall then.
