My band is not part of a big corp like stan wiest, etc. They are their own band, working for themselves. How much should I tip? And do I give just one tip to the bandleader or do I tip each band member? If it's just one - do I separate it into different envelopes? My band leader has met with me 2x -- and I feel I am more inclined to give him a bit more. Does that make sense?

Re: Tipping the band?
hmmm - i'm not getting a band but here's my gut reaction. yes, give the tip to him and personally thank each band member. since they are their own entity and not part of a big corp - you know all the money you're paying for their services are going to them. giving a bit more to the leader makes sense as he's the one who's 'coordinated' and acted as a liason to you. don't know how much you're paying. I'm thinking maybe $75-$100 for the Band Leader and maybe ...i dunno $50 for each member of the band???? again I don't know how much you're paying or how many people are in the band....just a thought.
and yes - i'd give the leader a separate envelope with his name on it within an envelope with the other cash... ie. outter envelop goes to him inside there is an envelope marked 'JoeShmoe' that has $100 in it for him.
make sense?

Re: Tipping the band?
WE fed our band and gave an envelope with $250. This was a BIG debate between me and FH and I think we gave too little for 10 pieces but OH WELL!

Re: Tipping the band?
Ok, thanks girls. I like the $75 for the leader and $50 or so for everyone else. I have a 6 pc band, so it comes to $325. WHERE that is coming from I dunno, but I feel better to know how much we should give. And it's about what I was thinking. Thanks girls!!!!
