Did anyone or is anyone planning on tipping the chef? The banquet manager mentioned this to me when we went to finalize everything on Wednesday. I don't know what to do - I have never heard of anyone tipping the chef.

Re: Tipping the chef???
We didn't tip our chef. That should all be included in the gratuity that you pay the hall.
However, we were so impressed with how good all the food tasted that we got the BM to bring the chef out so we could give him our compliments and appreciation.

Re: Tipping the chef???
That's nuts. Are you going to tip the receptionist, at some point she likely directed your call? The owner of the club, he is after all providing you a place to celebrate? Don't forget the truck driver who delivers the food to them in the first place!!! I am going to lobby our senators and congressman to put a statewide ban on tipping at catering halls. It's getting out of control.
Tell your hall I said it's nuts.
[note-i think your hall is nuts for suggesting it...not you for asking]
