Tipping- The Confusion Begins

Tipping- The Confusion Begins

I have read many of the threads on here and several articles as well. My list of who I have to tip is as follows:

Maitre De (I heard $2-$4 pp.?)
2 Photographers
DJ
Ceremony & Cocktail hour musician
2 Limo Drivers
Barternders

My question is how much should each person get?

Do I tip the priest? How much?

The photographers are with me for 11 hours. That seems like forever to me. How much should I give them? $50?...$100?

I am paying $1000 for the 2 limos, so is that $100 each or is that too much?

If you are having valet for your guests, are you paying the tips in advance or letting your guests get it? I think I have always paid my own when I have been a guest

Please let mw know how you are calulating each. Are you doing straight pencentages (like 15% or 20% of the total cost) or are you going by how long they are there?

I saw a post on the '09 brides where this was bumped. Let me see if I can find it.

Everyone says something different for this but I will say that usually the priest either asks for a donation or tells you what the donation will be as their fee so tipping isn't necessary in that situation.

Everything else is REALLY up to your discretion and your budget as you will see time and time again in these forums. And not to forget, regardless of what is customary, your service should dictate the gratuity as well.
