Re: Tipping the night of the wedding!
You should check your contract. My contract had tips in it:
Maitre D' - $3-5 pp Bridal Attendent - $75-100 Bartenders - $85 each Valet - $50 each Coat check - $1 per coat
The gratuity that is added on to your price per person is what the servers get as their tip.

Re: Tipping the night of the wedding!
I just want to comment about the servers and their tip being included, this is not true. This is what the halls say but in the end the servers are not tipped in any way. I only know this because I used to work at a few different very nice halls and worked weddings. Just keep that in mind when you're tipping.

Re: Tipping the night of the wedding!
Emily - the tips are 'suggestive tips' in the contract.
I know the bartenders, valet, etc. are tips if you DO NOT want your guests tipping them. If you leave a tip jar on the bar then you don't have to tip them, otherwise to not have a tip jar on the bar you do! Hope that makes sense.
I'm North Ritz too!

Re: Tipping the night of the wedding!
These tips are crazy!! I don't know if anyone else feels this way...but my fiancee and I are spending an INSANE amount of money on our wedding and the gratuity added into our bill is already a lot. THAT is for the servers/bartenders/valet says everyone I spoke to. I'm having a big wedding, if I tip every one of my servers, that would be enough to buy 7 Gucci bags!! and I love my bags haha
I'm tipping the maitre'd, bridal attendant, two limo drivers, DJ, pastor, hair and makeup artist, two photographers, a videographer and the altar boys.
Anyone else out there feel this way or am I alone in my rant?? haha

Re: Tipping the night of the wedding!
I just looked over my contract and they call the 20% an administrative fee. I feel the same as you. We just made a list of who's supposed to get a tip and are going to have the envelopes pre-made so as to not feel pressured to tip more than we feel the day of.

Re: Tipping the night of the wedding!
I just spoke with my hall and the only suggested tips are to the BA and MD, everything is covered. They work it into the price person. I just had to pay tax on top of the per person charge. No service charge ( tho I know it's built into the price)
