I was wondering how much you would tip your vendors on the day of the wedding-
1- DJ 2- Photographer 3-Others- if applicable
Is tipping expected? I just feel like we are paying a huge amount to begin with but i have heard of people tipping

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
hi,
we tipped (from what i remember):
dj--$75 videographers--$75 each flower delivery person--$25 limo drivers--$50 each bridal attendant--$100
we also tipped our maitre'd of course and we gave him approximately $4pp attending. i think $3 is pretty standard but since we had a small wedding we wanted to bump it up a little. i'm sure there are also girls who give even more.
we didn't tip our photographer b/c he works independently (he IS his company) so all of our payments went directly to him.

We tipped:
DJ- $50 MC- $50 Photog: $50, also tipped assistant Maitre D- $400 Bridal Attendant- $150 Videographer- $50 Steel drum band members- $20 each (only there for CH) Hair.Makeup- paid their fees in cash and gave them each a $50 tip
I think that's it As far as tipping being expected...I think it is to a certain extent these days...but I know brides who also said they were paying enough money for the vendor's services and didn't tip them. My view is somewhere in the middle...I think you should try to tip but the amount should be based on service, not what's 'expected.'
My only tipping regret is that we loved our MC and we thought that we should have tipped more...We are going to write a rave review TY card to kind of make up for that

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
ladies, keep your lists coming!! I told FH we would have to tip a bunch of people and he thinks it is ridiculous that we have to spend at least 1k in tips alone.. so i just want to know which vendors were the 'necessary' ones that you tipped! (for instance, did you have to tip the bartenders, valet, etc)?

I totally agree with you on this. With all the money being spent already, it's hard coming up with the right tip. Obviously it can't be more than you can afford, but you also don't wanna look 'cheap' (even though that's not possible considering how much these vendors already charge, but whatever)
For me, I'm planning on tipping:
DJ - $50 (MC is owner, so no tip) LIMO - $80 Maitre D - $200
Can't think of any others at the moment, but so far that's what i got.

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
I see some people are saying they did not tip because it was the owner of the company? Is that standard procedure>?

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
we have some time until our wedding but we already budgeted for gratuities. All of the vendors are what is making your wedding what it is....me & my fh plan on giving
photo/video $100 ea hair/makeup $50 dj: $75-100 ea maitre d $800-$1000 bridal attd $150
i feel like gratuity shows the vendor how much you appreciate a job well done before, during & after
