My honest opinion is i dont walk out of my job at the end of the day with a tip...i could see the maitre d's but for the rest i'm already paying them a nice amount for there service...JMI Sure i will tip them anyway...this wedding expense just don't quit....

Tipping is a necessary evil of planning a wedding. All of the vendors should be tipped.

This is what FH and I were saying. You're paying so much already. And, if it's their business, they are getting all of the money. I guess I'm going to see how it goes and decide that day...

I think that they are providing a service so they should get something ... Just how much is the question. I'm budgeting 20% per service but plan on keeping those envelopes open and their actual tip will be determined on how they are the day of.
Oh and the amount suggested to the matre'd and BA blows my mind!!!

I asked the same question and this is the reply I received:
You should check your contract. My contract had tips in it:
Maitre D' - $3-5 pp Bridal Attendent - $75-100 Bartenders - $85 each Valet - $50 each Coat check - $1 per coat
The gratuity that is added on to your price per person is what the servers get as their tip.

Everyone will be tipped based on performance. If they rock, they get tipped well... if they suck, their tip will certainly reflect that.

yea this is annoying because we pay for them to be there....pay for them to eat...andddd have to tip!!! i will be putting tips in seperate envelopes before hand but if they suck i will be taking money out!
