Tipping Vendors...
Hi ladies,I'm trying to figure out all my costs and I was wondering what is everyone doing in regards to tipping. My photographer, dj and MUA all work for themselves. Am I obliged to tip them? FH said yes, but I thought if they own their own business, I wouldn't have to. Thanks in advance!

I believe that tipping is necessary- even if they work for themselves -

I am a firm believer in tipping. Even though they own their own business, it's not like they keep all the money for themselves. They have charges and overhead as well, so the tip is very much appreciated.

I see what you ladies mean. Is it just me, but I'm seriously getting buyer's remorse. I feel like I should have gone with cheaper vendors! FH had no idea that we're expected to climb up into the 30s

I definitely understand. It adds up quick. It's definitely a good idea to work out a budget before you book vendors in order to get the best in your price range. Also, I believe you should tip based on service - not based on whether or not they own the company. My DOC suggested coming up with the amount you plan to tip and then at the end decide if you want to add some for outstanding service or take away for sub par service.
