tipping/photo/video question

I have heard mixed ideas about tippng photogrpahers and videographers. How can you tip them the night of when you have no idea how your pics or video is gonna come out. Some people say wait until you get ur final product, some people say tip anyway and hope its good.

A dj you know was good, bad, or the best because you hear him all night. A photog could take lousy pics, but be there all night seeming like he is doing an outstanding job. I want to see a product to determine how much tip I give you...

So whats everyone's thoughts. Im not trying to be cynical or skimp on tips. I will always tip, but I just want to make sure I do it logically and don't regreat huge tip if the final product comes out not how i wanted.

Feed them the night off and don't tip. If you wuold like to tip after you get everything thats fine.

I'm with Adriana on this one. I'll be waiting until I at least get my proofs to tip the photog. I tip based on performance....if performance is poor, they don't get as good of a tip.

I have 2 photographers ..... I will tip at the end of the night as well as feed them ...

IF MY PICS SUCK I WILL TAKE IT UP WITH THE OWNER THAT IS FOR SURE!!!!!

I tipped at the wedding, and from past posts seems like most girls did. But its up to you

I trusted my photographer 100%, already did my e-pics with her and loved those and knew her work really well so i had 100% trust in her that pics would come out great. That day she was there 12 hours and busted her a** so thats why i tipped her that day.

Same with videographer, he was there over 12 hours i think and really busted his a**, even when i said its the end of the night and not much else to capture so he can go home bc he looked so tired, he said no i stay until the end. Plus he did play a wedding movie trailer during our reception that he edited sometime after we took our pics and before the reception started, which i find amazing lol. So i did see some work even at the wedding.

I see... thats why i posted this because im torn. I know they work hard, but they are not working for tip. They get paid, so im not sure. Maybe ill give a small tip and then give more when i see the proofs

Wake up ladies!!!!! My thing with tipping is..............as soon as I see my photographer I'm giving him a $100.00 tip & the assistant $50.00. This way I'll be sure they will go the extra mile for me. The only thing I'll have left from this wedding is the photos. With all the money we are spending on stupid things that are not going to last I think $100.00 is a small insurance price to pay. My cousin did the same thing at her wedding & the photographer was so happy in the beggining of the day because he got tipped $100.00 and did'nt even take one photo...............her photos are awesome and he was a pleasure to deal with all day long! As far as feeding them,you have to. They will be with us all day long. Not to feed them is just rude!

i don't think anyone was not going to feed them...thats a given. They can't go ten hours witout eating, thats just evil!

ughh... i never even thought of this I'll wait to hear the verdict
