I am getting a 9 pc band - how much is apporpriate to tip each band member?

i don't have a band but i think someone once mentioned they're giving their band $25 per person (just give the entire amount to the band 'leader' and he'll split it amongst everyone)

I think $20-$25 would be good. There's 9 of them..it could get super expensive tipping them more than that!

I initially put $200 in the envelope for 8 people. (came to $25 per person) At the end of the wedding DH felt that did such a great job that he gave them another $100. So it came out to $37 per person.
