omg. fh is freaking out. i am starting to also...he got me so worked up (not intentional at all) i was crying my eyes out, anyway money is really starting to get us down.... we are working out a budget and we can't figure out how much money we should spend on tips...
how much do you spend on tips for the dj, photographer, and the florist?
i really need to know how much to spend on them
i am so tired of fighting and crying.....i wish that he would see that we are going to be ok.....i lost it after we went to land's end and did our menu...he was so grouchy and down in the dumps i don't know how to help him feel better

Honestly...do what you can, and nothing more. It's not the popular answer to the tip threads sometimes, but it's really the most honest. And this is coming from someone who survived on their tips for 5 years too. I would look at the 'guidelines' and then ask yourself can we afford this? If so, do I feel comfortable giving that amount? If not, how much less can I afford, and do I feel comfortable with it? You need to find the balance that works the best for you and FH, while also not being overly stingy to the vendors. Good luck!

I agree with Ali. I'm not going to jip anyone but if you're paying your florists including delivery I don't understand why you need to tip them also. I understand all of the other tips this one just confuses me a little.

I'm going to give you the list my DOC gave me... i prob wont go by some of these but maybe use as a general guideline:
florist delivery person: $20
hair and makeup: 15-20% of bill
main photog: $100, assistant $50
video: $75-100
officiant: $50-75 (if priest, GC to dinner, b&n, etc)
alter servers: $20 each
church janitor: $20-50
musicians: $20-50 each
limos: $20-50 per driver
special effects: $50 per person
coodinator's assistant: $75-100
bridal attendant: $100
maitre d: $2-6 per guest
dj: $50, mc: $100, lighting: $50
EXTRAS: coat check, limo driver at end of night (usually $50), bartenders, waitstaff...
